Setting the Tone
As a facilitator, your mood sets the stage for the entire session. If you’re upbeat and enthusiastic, that energy can encourage everyone to engage. On the other hand, if you seem stressed or disengaged, it can dampen the group’s vibe. Starting with a positive mindset helps create a welcoming atmosphere where everyone feels comfortable sharing.
Encourage open communication by being transparent about your thoughts and feelings. Invite participants to contribute by saying, “I’m really interested in what you all think—let’s talk about it!”
Don’t hesitate to prompt questions, no matter how small. A simple “Does anyone have thoughts or questions?” invites everyone to share, fostering a curious and inclusive environment!
